Oakland Black Pride raises Black queer joy above the struggles experienced by those of us at the intersection of blackness and queerness by continuing to carve out safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ communities of color and forming alliances with trusted community partners. We've teamed up with Black Joy Parade, an active ally, to bring you Black Pride & Joy, a Queer Pop-Up Cinema. The event will showcase short films and photographic exhibits that amplify Black, queer joy in all its forms.

Photographic Exhibition: Joy in Repetition, a Series of Photographs and Stories of Black, Queer Icons Past to Present.

Black, queer vendors will be in the building, pushing products and services exclusively for LGBTQOC communities and laced with pure joy.

Cocktails, popcorn and other refreshments will be available. 

After the Screenings, there will be a DJ for dancing and mingling and stuff...
